We’re always looking for caring volunteers to help us with our cause.

As a small staff, we wouldn’t be able to help all the families we help without our wonderful volunteers! Whether it’s helping in the office with administrative tasks, tending to our beautiful gardens in the spring and summer, or lending a hand at our fundraising events or family programs such as picnics and our holiday party for families – each and every volunteer is special to us and truly appreciated. You can volunteer for a short while or for years, we are thankful for every bit of help!

Volunteers are needed at any and all of these events.  If you would like to volunteer for an event, please contact us at

Annual Monroe County High School Hockey League William J. Quinlan Memorial Senior Select Hockey Game – (CURE Hockey Senior Select Night) All Section V area hockey teams are asked to nominate their most outstanding seniors to play in an all-star game and all proceeds from this event go to CURE. This event occurs at the end of the high school hockey season, typically in March.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner This invite only event is held to honor the most dedicated volunteers at CURE and thank them for their tireless service at CURE events. As a small organization, we simply could not help the number of families we help annually without their support.

CURE 5K Run and Walk This fun event is open to anyone who would like to participate. Past events have been held at Genesee Valley Park and most recently, Seneca Park. The event was previously held in the fall, but we moved it to late spring to get everyone moving after what tend to be too long and cold Rochester winters! We encourage CURE supporters to come out alone or put together a team to show their support for our families. So lace up your running or walking shoes and come out for a great cause – it’s a walk in the park!

Survivors Day This event honors all of our survivors at a family picnic.  Every survivor receives a t-shirt and there are many games and activities as well as picnic fare.  This event is open to all of our survivors and their immediate family.

CURE Kids Cancer Classic Golf Event This is a fundraising event. It is open for anyone to register.

Morton Fun Day This fun event is put on by the parishioners of the Baptist Church in Morton NY for CURE families. Lunch is provided as well as pumpkin and apple picking and many fun activities.

Remembrance Service This event honors those lost in their battle with cancer.  All family members of bereaved families are invited to attend this service.

Recipe for a CURE Sunday Brunch This is CURE’s premier fundraiser.  Chef’s from all over Rochester are invited to come cook a buffet of brunch foods and are assisted by our “Celebrity Chefs”; CURE children currently on treatment who help the chefs with their artful dishes.  There are a wide variety of silent and live auction items available for bid.  Everyone is welcome to purchase a ticket to this great event.

Race with Grace 10K This is an external fundraiser 10K run on Thanksgiving Day.

CURE Holiday Party This event is co-hosted by BENTE and is open to CURE children 16 and younger and their immediate families.  The event provides dinner and a magic show, as well as other fun games and activities, and a visit from Santa with a gift for every child.

CURE Holiday Shop Every December, CURE opens its doors to some of our families who need a little extra help during the holiday season.  Parents are invited to come to the office to receive gifts from our “shop” for their children and are often given a holiday food basket.  Volunteers are on hand to help wrap these gifts for the families.
