Our inspiration:
Undersheriff Korey Brown’s grandson Joel (pictured to the right) is a two-time cancer survivor. Joel was diagnosed at just four months old, was deemed cancer free and then was diagnosed with treatment related leukemia (AML) at just over one year old. After undergoing treatment and two bone marrow transplants, he is now doing well and thriving! Undersheriff Brown has been advocating for C.U.R.E. and the services the organization provides for the past several years, running a 5k a day during September (childhood cancer awareness month) each day dedicating his run to a local child who has battled. His intents are to raise awareness and funds for the organization.
The Greece Police Department is allowing officers to grow a beard and not shave for the entire month of November if they donate $50 each to this cause.
Gifts to C.U.R.E. truly make a difference. Below, you will find examples of how your donation can make a difference to our families:
$250
Can provide 20 bereaved families with the book “Tear Soup” as part of their condolence package.
Can give one family the opportunity to provide a holiday gift to their family, who may not otherwise be able to do so. With added financial strains that often accompany a diagnosis, families are left to choose what they can provide for their family members. A gift of $250 can alleviate that worry from their minds.
$100
Can provide ten teenagers with a $10 iTunes gift card to help them pass the time during outpatient visits.
Can provide 1 gas gift card to a newly diagnosed family - to help alleviate the financial burden of frequent doctors’ appointments.
$50
Can provide one child with a Voyage Beads necklace.
Can supply birthday cards for one year to C.U.R.E. kids.
Can provide votive candles for the annual Remembrance Service.
